2013 Audi Maintenance Schedule for All Models

The following maintenance items must be done for all 2013 Audi models unless otherwise specified. Intervals are indicated for each item below.

  • Engine Oil must be changed and the filter replaced at 5,000 miles and every 10,000 miles thereafter.
  • AdBlue fluid must be filled completely with fresh fluid at a maximum capacity of 24 liters. Adapt learned values for the tank under guided fault finding after filling it up. This maintenance item should be done at 5,000 miles and every 10,000 miles thereafter for Q7 3.0L TDI and A8 3.0L TDI only.
  • The cooling system level must be checked. Add if necessary. Applicable to all 2014 models that have reached their first 15,000 miles. It should be repeated every 20,000 miles thereafter.
  • Check engine compartment for leaks at 15,000 miles and every 20,000 miles thereafter.
  • On-board diagnosis check must be done at 5,000 miles and every 10,000 miles thereafter. (For Flex Fuel vehicles only)
  • Visual check must be done on the chassis to look for corrosion and paint damage. This should be done from the inside and outside with all doors, trunk and hood lids open. Check is scheduled at 15,000 miles every 20,000 miles thereafter.
  • Battery terminals must be checked for corrosion and cleaned if needed. Mechanics should also check if the housing is properly mounted and do not suffer from any type of damage. Replace if necessary. The acid level should also be checked if it can be seen through the housing. Fill if needed. This should be performed on all vehicles except the Q5 hybrid. Intervals are as follows: 15,000 miles and every 20,000 miles thereafter.
  • Small (12-volt) side battery (for Q5 hybrid only) must be checked for corrosion. The housing should be checked if it is properly mounted and does not suffer from any type of damage. Replace if necessary. This should be done first at 15,000 miles and every 20,000 miles thereafter.
  • Dust and pollen filter must be replaced at 15,000 miles and every 20,000 miles thereafter.
  • Spark plugs must be replaced at 35,000 miles or 6 years, whichever comes first and every 40,000 miles or 6 years thereafter. This is applicable to the following models only – A4 2.0L TFSI, A5 2.0L TFSI, A5 Cabriolet, allroad, A6 2.0L TFSI, Q5 2.0L TFSI, Q5 hybrid, TT, TTS, A8 W12 and all vehicles with 4.0L V8 TFSI engines.
  • Spark plugs must be replaced at 55,000 miles only or 6 years, whichever comes first for the following vehicles: all engines except A4 2.0L TFSI, A5 2.0L TFSI, A5 Cabriolet, allroad, A6 2.0L TFSI, Q5 2.0L TFSI, Q5 hybrid, TT, TTS, TT RS, A8 W12, all vehicles with 2.0L TFSI Flex Fuel engines, and all vehicles with 4.0L V8 TFSI engines. Other vehicles must get their spark plugs replaced at 55,000 miles and every 60,000 miles thereafter.
  • Spark plugs need replacement at 35,000 miles and every 30,000 miles thereafter except for models TT RS and 2.0L TFSI Flex Fuel engines whose spark plugs should only be replaced at 35,000 miles only.
  • Power steering fluid must be checked. Add fluid if necessary for the following models: A8, Q7 and Q5 (except Q5 hybrid) at 35,000 miles and every 40,000 miles thereafter.
  • Air cleaner housing must be cleaned and its filter element replaced at 55,000 miles only except for S6, S7, A8 3.0L V6 TDI, A8 3.0L V6 TFSI. The RS 5 needs this maintenance item done at 15,000 miles and every 40,000 miles thereafter. Models RS 5, S6, S7, A8 3.0L V6 TDI, A8 3.0L V6 TFSI, A8 4.0L V8 TFSI, TTS and TT RS, on the other hand, should get this done at 35,000 miles and every 40,000 miles thereafter.
  • Ribbed V belt and tensioner must be checked and replaced if needed. This job should only be done for the R8 Coupe and R8 Spyder at 15,000 miles and every 20,000 miles thereafter.
  • Snow screen for air cleaner needs to be cleaned at 15,000 miles and every 40,000 miles thereafter. Applicable only to A4, S4, allroad, A5, A5 Cabriolet, S5, S5 Cabriolet, Q5 and Q5 hybrid.
  • Fuel filter replacement for A3 2.0L TDI, A8 3.0L TDI and Q7 3.0L TDI only. This should be done at 15,000 miles and every 20,000 miles thereafter.
  • Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) must be checked for ash loading after the first 125,000 miles after DPF replacement. Replace if needed. This procedure is for Q7 3.0L TDI, A8 3.0L TDI and A3 2.0L TDI only.
  • The plenum panel’s water drain must be checked and drained and cleaned if needed. Perform at 15,000 miles and every 20,000 miles thereafter.
  • The tires and spare wheel must be checked for damage and wear at 5,000 miles and every 20,000 miles thereafter. Tire pressure will need to be checked at this time and the Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) reset.
  • The tires and spare wheel must be checked for wear and damage, its tire pressure checked, date of repair set renewed where applicable, and TPMS reset at 15,000 miles and every 20,000 miles thereafter.
  • At 5,000 miles, rotate tires and reset TPMS. These two maintenance items, when done together, should only be done at 5,000 miles only.
  • Check wiper blades’ condition and replace if needed. This maintenance item should be performed at 5,000 miles and every 10,000 miles thereafter.
  • Wiper blades must be checked and replaced if needed. This check should be done at 5,000 miles and every 10,000 miles thereafter.
  • Check the adjustment and function of wiper, washer, and headlight washer. Add fluid if needed. This should be done at 5,000 miles and every 10,000 miles thereafter.
  • Interior lights must be checked at 35,000 miles and every 40,000 miles thereafter.
  • Hazard lights, blinkers, high and low beams, parking lights and fog lights must go through a routine check starting at 15,000 miles and every 20,000 miles thereafter. Rear lighting such as brake lights, taillights, rear fog lights, license plate lights, blinkers and hazard lights, and back-up lights must be checked at the same interval.
  • Service reminder display reset must be performed at 5,000 miles and every 10,000 miles thereafter.
  • Check horn function at 5,000 miles and every 10,000 miles thereafter.
  • Door hinges and straps will need to be lubricated for models Q7, A3, TT, TTS, R8 Coupe and R8 Spyder only. This maintenance procedure must be done at 15,000 miles every 20,000 miles thereafter.
  • Door hinges, locks, hood latch, and straps will need lubrication at 35,000 miles and every 40,000 miles thereafter.
  • Hood lid hinges of models R8 Coupe, R8 Spyder, TT, TTS and TT RS will need lubrication at 15,000 miless and every 20,000 miles thereafter.
  • Clean guide rails and lubricate sunroof systems at 15,000 miles and every 20,000 miles thereafter.
  • Front latch Cabriolet roof (A5 Cabriolet and S5 Cabriolet only) at 15,000 miles and every 20,000 miles thereafter.
  • Spherical head couplings for tailgate gas springs will need to be retightened with 21 Nm. (For A3 only)
  • Brake system needs to checked for damage, leaks, fluid level, and pad thickness at 5,000 miles and every 10,000 miles thereafter.
  • Brake discs must be checked for thickness at 15,000 miles and every 20,000 miles thereafter.
  • Check exhaust system for damage and leaks at 15,000 miles and every 20,000 miles thereafter.
  • Check front and rear axle for excessive play, check dust seals on tie rod ends and ball joints at 15,000 miles and every 20,000 miles thereafter.
  • Check drive shaft boots at 15,000 miles and every 20,000 miles thereafter.
  • Take a look at automatic transmission and final drive if there are any leaks. This should be done at 15,000 miles and every 20,000 miles thereafter.
  • Check manual transmission and final drive for leaks at 15,000 miles and every 20,000 miles thereafter.
  • Change ATF for continuously variable transmission (multitronic) at 35,000 miles and every 40,000 miles thereafter.
  • DSG/S tronic – change MTF oil for the gear box. This is for the RS 5 only and should be done at 15,000 miles and every 20,000 miles thereafter.
  • Haldex clutch will need a change oil at 35,000 miles and every 40,000 miles thereafter. (For A3, TT, TTS and TT RS only)
  • DSG/S tronic – replace transmission filter element for your vehicle’s clutch hydraulics and change ATF oil at 35,000 miles and every 40,000 miles thereafter. (For A3, TT, TTS, S4, S5, S5 Cabriolet, RS 5, S6, R8 Coupe and R8 Spyder only)
  • Change ATF for tiptronic gear box at 35,000 miles and every 40,000 miles thereafter. (For Q5 hybrid only)
  • Change ATF clutch hydraulics and differential oil for rear sport differential at 35,000 miles. (For RS 5 only)
  • Check underbody for leaks and damage at 15,000 miles and every 20,000 miles thereafter.
  • A road test will be needed to check the following: brakes, kick-down, steering, heating and ventilation, electrical components, air conditioning system, power accessories, and automatic shift lock. Reset driver information display at this point as well. This maintenance item must be done for all vehicles at 15,000 miles and every 20,000 miles thereafter.
  • Replace timing belt at 110,000 miles on TTS or 130,000 miles for A3 2.0L TDI. The following items must be checked: timing belt tensioning system, idler pulleys, and dampening pulleys. Replace if needed.
  • Brake fluid needs to be replaced every 2 years regardless of mileage.
  • Cloth top and rollover protection must be checked for the A5/S5 Cabriolet and R8 Spyder. This should be done once every 2 years regardless of mileage.
  • Replace AdBlue fluid every 4 years if not filled within the last 4 years. This is for Q7 3.0L TDI and A8 3.0L TDI only.
  • The A8’s crash active headrest must be checked every 2 years regardless of mileage.

2012 Audi Maintenance Schedule for All Models

The following maintenance items are specific for all 2012 models unless stated otherwise. Please take a look at them to ensure that you keep your 2012 Audi in tiptop shape.

  • The engine oil will need to be changed and its filter replaced at 5,000 miles and every 10,000 miles thereafter.
  • AdBlue fluid must be filled completely with fresh fluid at a maximum capacity of 23 liters. Adapt learned values for the tank under guided fault finding after filling fluid. This is applicable to Q7 3.0L TDI only and should be done at 5,000 miles and every 10,000 miles thereafter.
  • The cooling system must be checked. Add coolant if needed. This maintenance item must be performed at 15,000 miles and every 20,000 miles thereafter.
  • Check engine compartment for leaks at 15,000 miles and every 20,000 miles after that.

This is applicable to the A4, A5, A6, Q5, TT and TTS with 2.0L TFSI and A8 W12 engine only.The TT RS’ spark plugs, on the other hand, should only be replaced at 35,000 miles only. Other models must get said item replaced at 55,000 miles only except for the except A4, A5, A6 Q5, TT and TTS with 2.0L TFSI and A8 W12 engine.
  • Power steering fluid must be checked. Add if needed. This maintenance item should be done for all vehicles at 35, 000 miles and every 40,000 miles thereafter.
  • The air cleaner must get its housing cleaned and filter element changed at 55,000 miles only except for TTS and TT RS. TTS and TT RS owners must get this maintenance item done at 35,000 miles and 75,000 miles only. All other vehicles’ air cleaners must be checked at 55,000 miles as mentioned above and at 115,000 miles.
  • The ribbed V belt and tensioner must be checked and replaced if needed. This maintenance item must be performed on the R8 and R8 Spyder only at 15,000 miles and every 20,000 miles thereafter.
  • The ribbed V belt must be checked and replaced if necessary. Tension of belt drive with manual tensioner and retension must be checked if needed. This should be done at 75,000 miles only and for the following models: TT RS, V6 FSI, 3.0L V6 TFSI (rear belt), 2.0L TFSI, 5.2L V10 FSI, 4.2L V8 FSI only.
  • V belt for the compressor drive (front belt) must be replaced at 55,000 miles for the following models: – Q7, A6 and A7 with 3.0L V6 TFSI. The same maintenance item must be done at 75,000 miles for S4 and S5 with the 3.0L V6 TFSI and at 115,000 miles for Q7, A6 and A7 with 3.0L V6 TFSI.
  • Snow screen for air cleaner must be cleaned at 15,000 miles and every 20,000 miles thereafter. Applicable to l A4, S4, A5, S5 and Q5 only.
  • Fuel filter replacement must be performed on A3 2.0L TDI and Q7 3.0L TDI only and should be done at 15,000 miles and every 20,000 miles thereafter.

  • Remove the cover of the plenum panel and have the water drain checked and cleaned. This should be done at 15,000 miles and every 20,000 miles thereafter.
  • Check tires and spare wheel for wear and damage. Tire pressure must also be examined and the Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) reset once the vehicle hits 5,000 miles. The same maintenance item must be done at 15,000 miles and every 40,000 miles thereafter but owners should keep in mind that the date of tire repair needs to be renewed.
  • At 5,000 miles, all models should have their tires rotated and TPMS reset.
  • Check condition of wiper blades and replace if needed. This should be performed at 5,000 miles and every 10,000 miles thereafter.
  • Check adjustment and function of wiper, washer, and headlight washer. Add fluid if needed. This should be performed at 5,000 miles ad every 10,000 miles thereafter.
  • Front and rear lights should be checked if working properly. This should be done at 15,000 miles and every 20,000 miles thereafter.
  • At 5,000 miles and every 10,000 miles thereafter, the service reminder display will need to be reset.
  • Door hinges and straps for Q7, A3, TT, TTS, R8 and R8 Spyder must be lubricated at 15,000 miles and every 40,000 miles thereafter.
  • Lubricate all door hinges, locks, hood latch, and straps at 35,000 miles and every 40,000 miles thereafter.
  • Clean guide rails and lubricate sliding roof with grease at 35,000 miles and every 40,000 miles thereafter.
  • Lubricate hood lid hinges for R8, R8 Spyder, TT, TTS and TT RS at 15,000 miles and every 20,000 miles thereafter.
  • Check brake system for its pad thickness and examine for damage and leaks. It is also important to check the fluid level. This maintenance check should be done at 5,000 miles and every 10,000 miles thereafter.
  • Check brake discs for thickness at 35,000 miles and every 40,000 miles thereafter.
  • Check exhaust system for leaks and damage at 15,000 miles and every 20,000 miles thereafter.

  • Check underbody for leaks and damage at 15,000 miles and every 20,000 miles thereafter.
  • Road test must be performed to check braking, steering, electrical, kick-down, air conditioning, heating and ventilation. ASL Automatic Shift Lock, and power accessories. The driver information display must be reset as well. All of these items must be done by the time the vehicle reaches 15,000 miles and should be repeated every 20,000 miles.
  • The timing belt needs to be replaced at 110,000 miles on TTS and at 130,000 miles on A3 2.0L TDI. The following should also be checked if they are in good condition: timing belt tensioning system, idler pulleys, and dampening pulleys. Replace if necessary.
  • Models A5/S5 Cabriolet, and R8 Spyder must have their cloth top checked and its rollover protection looked at every 2 years regardless of mileage.
  • AdBlue fluid needs to be replaced every 4 years if it hasn’t been filled within the last 4 years. This is for the Q7 3.0L TDI only.
  • The A8’s crash active headrest needs to be checked every 2 years.

Reminder: For the R8 GT, oil with a viscosity of SAE 10W-60 should be the only oil used to fulfill VW specifications VW 50101 and VW 50500.
